The seamstresses are sick of the sight of school uniforms......being all that is left for them to sew in Australia..... The sewers want to work year-round not just for a few weeks before school goes back.
The retailers want to stock Australian grown and made. This saves on excess packaging, transport costs, and returns due to inconsistent sizing or poor quality. Retailers want to make customers happy.
By growing, processing and making in Australia all the value and employment stays here. We are supporting Australians while helping to lower the trade deficit. This is good for Australia and means that more Australians will have more money to spend. It also provides employment for the next generation.
Why are these bra tops so good? They are made from 190gsm organic cotton, in consistent sizes, for real body shapes. Their double front offers extra support, with wide elastic at the bottom (to stop creeping) and elastic inside the straps (for greater comfort and recovery). They feature quality twin needle stitching. Because they were grown organically YOU have prevented approximately 20grams of synthetic fertiliser from entering our soil and waterways, just by purchasing this bra. You already know that cotton is natural but how is organic different to "natural" or "100% cotton" or "best practice" or "fair trade" or "pure cotton" or conventional?
Conventional (often called "natural" or any combination of the names above) cotton accounts for only 3% of worldwide crops yet uses approximately 25% of the total world consumption of insecticides. Add to this the fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, synthetic fertilisers, defoliants and formadehyde finishing that "natural" cotton requires, and you see that natural is not so natural after all. Organic on the other hand uses none of these chemicals. Certified organic cotton is certified by an independent 3rd party certifier, ONLY after conforming to a strict set of industry standards. In the case of cotton this takes at least 3 years of being "chemical free". All certified organic products have a series of identifying numbers, and the symbol or letters of the certifying body.
Because organic looks after the soil, there are no mono-crops and heavy irrigation (which leads to erosion and chemical run-off). Entire eco-systems work together to keep the balance of nature in check. Crops are rotated, organic matter is turned back into the soil, and our farmers and waterways stay healthy. Farmer Alex has such healthy soil that he dry farms his cotton......especially relevant in a dry country like Australia.
Lets support Australian AND organic. All Eco Australian Organic Clothing - looks good, feels good, is good. Your torso will love you for it!
